I've been meaning to write....

But... Baseball season. If you have a 10 year old boy child you will understand. If not, well, it's probably beyond comprehension.

We have a game or practice every other day. Monday night the game lasted from 7:30 until 10:15. I know! On a school night! I hear the people now, saying "Why does she let that happen?" "I wouldn't let my child stay up that late and participate in all those things." Ummm... I'm not sure how we ended up here really. Wasn't in my grand plan of parenthood. I've found that whatever plans I did have must have been misplaced along the way. All I know is that the boy loves it. It makes him happy. While that may not be my way to happiness I do love to see him achieving it. There is no way now I could deny him that. I've come to realize that watching him live his happy life makes mine so much more so. (Yes, crackers will be served with the cheese from now on.)

I totally get you. Same thing here--except my son's only 8. The games that go late start next year. It's insanity!

Swim team is like that for us. The 2 oldest want to do it here in our new town, which means practice 2x a day and swim meets every Saturday. Sigh.

I've got two in baseball, as you know, and it can get pretty crazy. But they love it. And I think a well balanced kid has to have some fun with the enriching. Don't you?

It's the great American pastime. There are worse things, right?? I mean, it's not as if you're letting him stay up until 11:00 playing video games.

another reason i totally love you and your kid. we've been empty nesters this week- both calin and lauren are in florida with different friends. not as bad as i thought (believe it or not), but i am looking forward to having them back on sunday. blessings!

I would totally be out there, too. I love watching kids I love play sports.

I figure if the kid loves it...then it is all good. For us, it's soccer. My son would play 24/7 if he could.
